Old school is the best tool for expressing gratitude. That’s why we keep referring to letters rather than emails.  

Your thank you note should be handwritten and sent via mail or with maximum impact.

Imagine this: When your client opens their mailbox for the first time in their new house, they discover their name scrawled on a customized note from you.

And even if your letter isn’t the first thing your client sees in their new house, odds are it will be opened. In reality, evidence shows that an estimated 20% of emails get opened, whereas a handwritten note has a 99% chance.

3. Offer Your Help

Even after the deal has been completed, you need to maintain your commitment by informing your consumer that you are still available to help them.

You can say a generic offer, such as:

“I’m here to help if you have any further queries.”

5. Make It Fridge-Worthy

A lot can happen in your client’s life after you close the deal. They might have a friend, relative, or neighbor who asks for a referral. If you send a personal thank you note to them, they will remember you when this happens. If you’re lucky, you will even have your thank you note stuck on their fridge and they can easily pass it forward.

Include a business card with a few notes handwritten on it to make your letter even more fridge-worthy. You could say:

“Until we meet again,” “Best wishes,” or “It’s been a pleasure working with you.”

Bonus points if you can include your thoughtful note with a one-of-a-kind house-closing present. You can get a picture frame that complements their new living area or a food delivery kit they can use while unpacking as presents.

6. Gently Request a Referral Or Review

This is a challenging one because your letter should, first and foremost, express gratitude.

However, if you employ the correct tone and attitude, you can always add a modest request without upsetting your client. You could use,
